Simão
Souto

Simão Souto is a multidisciplinary artist working in drawing, painting, and sculpture. Born in Viseu, his work is deeply influenced by nature and the cultural heritage of his homeland.
At 16, he moved to France, where he spent a decade developing his passion for art and began his career as a 3D artist. He later transitioned to illustration and teaching, adopting a more traditional approach. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Animation from Brassart School in Lyon.

As a color-blind artist, he primarily works with charcoal and graphite but has developed a distinctive painting style, using monochromatic techniques to create depth and movement. This limitation has become a strength, allowing him to focus on values, texture, and contrast.

His work has been exhibited in solo shows in Portugal and France. Community engagement is central to his practice, as he frequently leads workshops and collaborates with local artists to foster creative exchange and cultural dialogue.
